LYDIA SHAW

MUSICAL THEATRE

Lydia is an actor, singer, dancer, coach and writer. She graduated from Royal Holloway, University of London with a 1st BA (hons) in English and Drama, before going on to train at the London School of Musical Theatre. 

 

Lydia's most recent acting credits include: Marnie (MARNIE & THE KALEIDOSCOPE, Original Workshop Cast), Fallon (HATCHED! A NEW AUDIO MUSICAL, Spotify/Apple Podcasts), Merry (CHRISTMAS SPECTACULAR: RETURN OF THE FROST, Regent Centre), Fairy Flustered (CINDERELLA, Grantham Arts Centre), Gloria Day (ME AND THE GIRLS, UK tour), Joy Maw (FERGUSON'S GANG, Yvonne Arnaud), White Witch (NARNIA, Brentwood Theatre), Guinevere (ARTHUR'S QUEST, Edinburgh Fringe), Solo Cabaret (TELLING TALES, Ye Olde Rose & Crown). Lydia has also worked on a number of shows with the London Musical Theatre Orchestra, including CANDIDE (Cadogan Hall), CAMELOT (London Palladium), A CHRISTMAS CAROL (Lyceum) and MACK AND MABEL (Hackney Empire). 

 

As a writer, Lydia works across musicals, plays & TV.  Lydia has recently written and directed HATCHED!  - a new audio musical all about female empowerment. The show is being released for free on Spotify/Apple Podcasts to help make musical theatre & female empowerment accessible to all (www.hatchedmusical.co.uk). Lydia's TV pilot, THE BACK ROW-ERS, was recently shortlisted for the UKTV/Female Pilot Club script callout and she also co-wrote new musical, ARTHUR'S QUEST, which received 5 stars and was nominated for 6 Musical Theatre Network awards for it's premiere at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival.

 

Lydia also works as a Public Speaking Coach through STEP UP VOCAL COACHING - where she focuses on harnessing the power of the voice to create impact, and on building an unshakeable performance mindset (managing nerves, building confidence and unlocking potential). Seeing clients go on to thrive in both their life and work as they enjoy their newfound confidence is an absolute privilege.

Lydia is also hugely passionate about getting people moving and improving mental health through exercise. Through her fitness company JIGGLE FITNESS, Lydia has inspired hundreds of people to celebrate their bodies; find confidence & enjoyment in exercise; and improve both their mental & physical health. Alongside JIGGLE, Lydia has also taught for West End Workout, West End Fit, Collective Creative Initiative, The Bridge, and various other companies.
